Zhen, a corsac fox, initially leads a life of thievery in Juniper City after being orphaned and taken in by a group of thieves.

When the city falls under the control of the Chameleon, Zhen becomes caught in her grasp and is tasked with stealing for her. Despite being imprisoned, Zhen later reveals the truth about Po's nemesis Tai Lung, who was actually a decoy created by the Chameleon. In an attempt to gain leniency, Zhen offers to lead Kung fu Panda Po to the Chameleon. Throughout their complex and shifting relationship, trust, betrayal, remorse, and redemption all play a role.
